Round 2 of Korfball SA State League Competition is in the books, with only 5 games played on Sunday, with a forfeit in B Grade.

A Grade

The early game saw North and Boomers face off, with a tight scrappy affair early on. North took the lead into the half. The second half saw North find their range, as they normally do capitalising on their hot-streak they pushed the lead out to 10 goals as the final siren rang out, with the scoreline at 21-11. For North, three players scored 4 goals, with Grace Cullen, Brandon Nagy and Jess Crispe the hot hands. On the other side for Boomers, Mark Hamilton top scored with 5 goals.

The second game of the day saw the debut of Flinders in A Grade as they took on Arista. Much like the early game the score was tight in the opening half, before Arista were able to use their experience and push the margin out in the second half to come away with their first victory of the season, 23-13. For Arista, Nik Bungey continued his hot hand to start the year to finish with 5 goals for the match. For Flinders, Tyson White matched the effort wth 5 of his own.

After two rounds Nik Bungey and Jayden Huddleston lead the goal scoring charts with 11 apiece, a couple of goals ahead of third placed Megan Papalia, on 9.

B Grade

B Grade saw the early game forfeited by North, with Boomers being awarded the points.

The second game saw Arista and Flinders face off. With Arista dominating the game as they came away with a 23-9 victory. To improve their record to 2-0 for the year. For Arista, Megan Jones scored 7 goals in the win. Whilst for Flinders Erin Cocks scored 3 goals in the defeat.

After two rounds Cameron McLean is leading the goal scoring with 13 goals so far this year, ahead of his teammates Megan Jones, 8 goals and Chris Hutchesson who sits on 7 goals.

C Grade

The early game saw an all Glenelg affair as the Tigers and Cubs faced off for the first time this season. With the Tigers coming off a draw last week and the Cubs a defeat against Arista. However this time around it was a different story. as the Cubs got off to a fast start out to a 5-0 lead and from there they dominated the match. Leading 8-3 at the half, before pushing the final margin out to 7 goals. As they claimed their first ever victory at State League level 15-8 over their older club-mates. For the Cubs, Claire Bowler top scored with 3 goals in the win, whilst for the Tigers, Tim Miller scored 4 in the defeat.

The second game saw Arista and Boomers take to the court. With a low scoring tight affair the result. At the half time break Arista held a two goal lead, 6-4. Before the start of the second half belonged to Boomers. As they scored 4 unanswered goals to take the lead back 8-6. With Arista then regaining momentum to level it back up at 8-8. They then scored the go ahead goal in the final minute to claim the victory 9-8. For the victors, Bruce Bungey scored 3 goals. For Boomers Stefan Scragg matched the effort with 3 goals of his own.

After two rounds the leading scoring charts looks just as tight as the rest of the league with Stefan Scragg and Tim Miller joint on top with 9 goals for the season, followed behind by Michael Ferris on 6.
