Beach Korfball 2021 has wrapped up, with a great time had by all involved over the five weeks of matches. This year saw eight teams competing, with players ranging from International level to first-timers, from 13 year olds to the parents of much-older-than-13-year-olds, and everything in between.

As always, the competition attracted plenty of interest from passer-bys at Glenelg, with a few teams even picking up players from the interested spectators! The competition, and the spirit in which it was played, makes for a great advertisement for the sport, as can be seen in the photos by @dani.canon_ and shared on @scaldiskorfball.

A huge thank you to all players and families who arrived early each week to help with set up, and to those who refereed as well. It makes these competitions much easier and cheaper to run when we have these kind of volunteers. With the start time moving earlier to fit in games lost due to high winds, we appreciate it was harder for some people to get there on time, which make us all the more appreciative.

At the end of the competition, it was Korfuffle taking overall honours, not losing a single match, with 15 wins and 3 draws giving them 51 points. Untouchaballs weren’t far behind with 14 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses for 47 points. Look at all those chickens rounded out the top three with a 9 win, 4 draw and 1 loss record, good for 36 points. This is a particularly good effort after having to miss a weeks matches due to a few injuries in the team. The full table, as well as the results, can be found on the Beach Korfball competition page.

Congratulations to Korfuffle, and we hope to see everyone out there again next year as we look to build the competition to be even bigger and better!
