Round 3 of Korfball SA State League Competition is in the books, with all 3 grades having the full 2 game allocation this weekend.

A Grade

The early game saw Arista and Glenelg take to the courts with Arista recording their second victory of the season defeating Glenelg 21-10. For the victors, there were 5 multiple goal scorers led by Jess Phillips who scored 5 goals, ahead of both Luke Rosie and Kerrie-Ann Moon equal on 4 goals. For Glenelg, Emily Hutchesson scored 4 goals to be their best in attack.

The second game saw North take on Flinders, with North continuing on with their hot start to the year recording their 3rd win of the year, defeating Flinders 24-13. For North, they recorded 4 players with more than 4 goals in the game. Led by Jess Crispe and Darrian Huddleston who both scored 5 goals in the victory. For Flinders, Jazz Zulfic led the way scoring 4 goals in the defeat.

The goal scoring charts sees a tight battle after 3 rounds. With a tie up the top between the North duo of Jayden Huddleston and Jess Crispe, both on 11 goals. Not far behind sits Emily Hutchesson on 10 goals, with a further 5 players within two goals.

 

* Edit * The top goal scorer after 3 rounds is Nik Bungey from Arista, with 13 goals for the season so far, apologies to Nik and all for the confusion. 

B Grade

The first B Grade game of the weekend saw Glenelg take on Arista, with Glenelg coming out on top to record their second victory of 2019, winning 16-9. Glenelg had three players all score more than 3 goals in the win, led by Nick Miller who scored 4. Whilst for Arista, both Chris Hutchesson and Cameron McLean scored 3 in the defeat.

Second up was the matchup between Flinders and North, with North claiming their second victory from three matches son far, winning 27-12. For North, it appears that everything they touched turned to gold, as every player who scored, managed multiple goals. With 3 players scoring more than 4 gaols, led by Pau Cree, with an amazing effort of 8 goals. Whilst for Flinders, they were led by Ben Wallace, who himself scored 5 goals in the defeat.

The goal scoring charts sees Arista’s Cameron McLean on top with 16 goals so far, ahead of Pau Cree and Chris Hutchesson who are both on 10 goals.

C Grade

The early game saw Boomers take on the Cubs. The Cubs fresh off their maiden victory made it two in a row, with a 9-6 victory over Boomers. For the Cubs Archie Cooper was the standout in attack scoring 3 goals. For Boomers, it was Georgia Rankine who top scored with 3 goals in the defeat.

The second game of the weekend saw Arista and Glenelg face off. With Arista continuing their perfect start to the year recording a 14-4 victory. For Arista, it was Sharni Lans who top scored, in a super effort, with 5 goals. Whilst for Glenelg it was Jodie King who top scored with 2 goals.

The goal scoring charts sees a tight affair, with a tie up top between Glenelg’s Tim Miller and Boomers Stefan Scragg, both on 9 goals, ahead of Arista’s Michael Ferris with 7.

Next Week

Next weekend sees Arista with the bye in both A and B Grade.

Whilst the A Grade matchups see Glenelg and North face off. The second matchup sees Boomers and Flinders meet in the late time-slot.

B Grade sees the same matchups as North take on Glenelg and Flinders and Boomers meet again.

Finally in C Grade they kick off with Boomers and Glenelg, followed by Arista and the Cubs, looking to win their 3rd match in a row.
