A Grade

The first matchup of the round saw Boomers take on Arista. With Boomers out of finals contention and Arista already having second spot secured. The game started off sluggishly as both teams went end to end without a goal being scored early. With a low scoring game looking likely at the final break with Arista up 10-7, a strong final quarter pushed Arista to a 17-9 victory. The top scorer for the game was Arista’s Zac Marshall with 5 goals in the win. Whilst for Boomers Mark Hamilton and Jack Curran led with 2 goals apiece

The second matchup saw Glenelg take on Flinders. With Glenelg locked into finishing third and Flinders out of finals contention. The matchup started with Glenelg pulling out to a quick lead, before Flinders were able to peg the margin back. As the second half developed, we were able to see the teams battle it out with neither being able to break clear. With scores level at three quarter time, it was all about pride in the final 12 minutes as the teams went goal for goal. As Flinders were able to get their noses in front to claim back to back wins, getting up 19-18. The top scorer for the match with 7 goals was Flinders’ Andrew Hutchesson. Whilst for Glenelg Daniel Phillips led with 5 goals.

B Grade

The first matchup of the round saw Glenelg take on Flinders. With a Glenelg needing a large win to overtake Boomers for top spot. Flinders on the other hand were out of finals contention. It was Glenelg from the outset who were on top form as they pushed out to an early lead. Which they were able to maintain throughout the course of the game to eventually run out convincing 19-7 victors. The top scored for the matchup was Glenelg’s Toni Bell with 4 goals, with a further four players scoring three goals as well. For Flinders, Andrew Hutchesson led with 3 goals.

The second matchup of the round saw Arista take on Boomers. With this match having the most impact on the final table. A Boomers win would see them finish on top. An Arista win would see them make the top three at the expense of North, who had the bye. In yet another tight meeting between these two sides this season, it was Boomers who were able to claim the tight victory. With the final score showing Boomers 17-15. The top score for the match was Boomers’ Ryan Gartner with 5 goals in the win. For Arista Chris Hutchesson and Megan Jones both led with 4 goals in the defeat. The win means that Boomers have earned automatic qualification through to the Grand Final in a fortnights time.

C Grade

The first matchup of the round saw The Tigers take on Arista. With an Arista victory seeing them qualify for the finals. Whilst for The Tigers it was all about pride as they had missed out on finals qualification. In a tight affair it was Arista who were able to come out on top, pulling away in the second half to claim a 9-6 victory and a spot in the C Grade Grand Final. With Glenelg’s Lee Jones top scoring in the match with 4 goals in the defeat. Whilst Arista’s James Holland led with 3 goals in victory.

The second matchup of the round saw the Cubs take on Boomers, with Arista’s victory earlier that day, the Cubs would need to win by 9 goals plus to make the Grand Final. Whilst Boomers had secured their place in the Grand Final prior to the final round. In an intriguing matchup, Boomers started well, before being pegged back by the Cubs several times. The margin would get out to a couple of goals before the Cubs rallied back into contention. With just a tick over 2 minutes left in the game the scores were level at 10-10, before Boomers saw everything click as they ended the game on a 5-0 run to take the victory 15-10. The top scorers for the match were Boomers duo Ben Walter and Daniel Rattus with 4 goals apiece. Whilst for the Cubs, Caitlin Brown top scored with 3 goals in the defeat.
