A Grade

The early game saw a tight thrilling contest between Glenelg and Boomers as they played off for the fourth and final time this regular season, heading into the game Glenelg lead 2 wins to Boomers 1. The match as mentioned saw a tight tussle throughout the game as both teams built some momentum with neither team able to break away from each other. The Final Quarter and the match deserved a quality ending and we saw one, as the youngest player on the court Jack Curran hit a buzzer beater to give Boomers their second victory of the season, getting up 16-15 and even the season series with Glenelg at 2-2. Mark Hamilton top scored for the winners with 5, whilst for Glenelg Kelly Wiliss scored 4.

The second game of the day was a contrast to the first as North took on Arista, for their fourth meeting of the year, coming into the game North had won their past 3 games against Arista. Not for the first time this season North came out and started with a bang hitting shot after shot to take a big early lead, which they were able to first maintain then secondly grow as the game progressed to the final whistle with North taking out the win 31-9. With 3 North Players scoring over 5 goals led by Darian Huddleston with 8. For Arista Lauren Bungey and Kerrie-Ann Moon both scored 2.

The Ladder stays the same with North clear on top, still yet to taste defeat this season, Arista in second, with Glenelg and Boomers rounding out the table. The Scoring Charts sees not a lot of change up the top with Daniel Papalia on top with 58 for the year, followed by Megan Milde, 51, and Josh Berney, 43, rounds out the top three, but he could be caught by Daniel Phillips, 41, whilst on International Duty.

B Grade

The early game saw Arista and Boomers face off for the third time this season, with the season series level at 1 game each heading into this one. This time saw a match much similar to their last encounter as Arista hit their early shots, whereas Boomers couldn’t buy a basket early. Arista built a nice little break of about 3 goals early and were able to maintain that lead throughout the game with the lead getting out to 6 goals before a mini Boomers Rally brought it back close, before Arista pushed the lead back out late to take the game 20-12. For Arista Cameron McLean top scored with 5, whilst Peter Corcoran top scored for Boomers with 5 as well.

The second of the B Grade games played saw Flinders take on Glenelg. In what was to become a tight contest, Flinders started the game building up a quick lead and headed into the half time break with the momentum, however Glenelg came out after half time and not only took momentum off their opponents that carried it forward with intensity as they slowly pegged the lead back to within reach before Flinders composed themselves and hit a couple of timely shots to take the control back and ultimately come away with the win, 17 – 15. For Flinders, Tyson White top scored with 6 goals and for the defeated Glenelg Issy Vardas top scored with 5 for the game.

The ladder now looks quite intriguing as Boomers stay on top with 24 points, Arista in second with 23, and Flinders and North tied on 22 points, with only goal difference separating who is playing finals at this stage, and Glenelg are in fifth. The Goal Scoring Charts look just as close as the ladder with Boomers Jack Curran currently on top with 47, just the one goal ahead of Flinders Jaz Zulfic with 46, whilst North’s Aaron Sykes is in third with 38.

C Grade

The early game saw Flinders and the Glenelg Cubs face off for the final time this season, with Flinders looking to keep their hold of to spot secure, they were able to score goals early whilst keeping the ever improving Cubs out, as they eventually ran out 15-4 victors, with Tyson White top scoring for Flinders with 4 goals, and for the Cubs it was all individual goal scorers with Nick Miller, Rhys Dart, Talitha Oweis and Claire Bowler scoring.

The second game saw Boomers and Arista face off for the third time this season, with Boomers holding a 2-0 record heading into the matchup.
